Columbine perennials offer cheery blooms in a mix of pastel colors from May thru July. As if that's not pleasant enough, know this: it spreads by seed so each year it gets better and better. You will find it attracts hummingbirds. The best places for it will provide partial shade. If you are so tempted you will find it works well as a cut flower.
